The burgundy glass of ovoid form is decorated with circles engraved at different depth, finished with a very delicate wheel working. Signed under base: Venini Italia. Size: 11" 1/2 hi circa (32 cm). Perfect condition. Some vases of this series are published on the book by Marino Barovier - Carlo Scarpa - "I vetri di un architetto" (The glasses of an architect), Skira editor, page 152 - 218 and 281. The "incisi" are glasses sometimes born as unique specimen with abstract, geometrical decoration made by a little wheel. Many of them, like this one, have a light haze. To make these glasses with Carlo Scarpa cooperated Eliseo Piano and Armando Campagnol, members of Venini staff as grinders and engravers, and famous Bohemian engraver Franz Pelzel. No deep scratches, chips, nicks, cracks, flaws, fleabites, polishing, unless differently declared. However, since we deal only with genuine antiques, they might not be always in mint condition and they may show signs of use.
